Using the Sample Units
The sample units are not intended to be viewed or used as prescribed materials or definitive learning activities for particular domains or assessment tasks. They have been designed to provide:
- examples of multi-domain units based on elements of the standards
- starting points for auditing current school based units in relation to the standards
- models and ideas for developing new units
- references for understanding the standards and developing assessment criteria.
These units were based on a task in a host domain. Standards were identified in other domains that supported and enhanced the learning of the host domain. These connections must be natural links and should not be contrived.
While these units may be able to be taught as written, it is expected that teachers would modify the content and/or the resources to suit the class context and learning needs of the students.
