Developing Units of Work
Information to support the development of effective units of work can be found in the Teaching, learning and assessment advice. This includes:
- examples of planning models that can be used to develop curriculum
- general classroom teaching strategies
- advice on questioning and collaborative learning
- characteristics of effective assessment
- advice in determining indicators of student progression and in developing rubrics.
The Department of Education and Early Childhood Development (DEECD) provides advice on the Principles of Learning and Teaching P–12 and Assessment. The DEECD website also includes a range of multi-domain assessment tasks that can be used as a model for developing units of work.
