Information and Communications Technology Assessment Map – Sample at Level 3

Samples are available for the following tasks:

Using a graphic organiser to sequence events

Context

Students were asked to use a familiar software tool, such as word processing, to assist in structuring their ideas about the history of clocks. Students extracted information from websites and books on the history of clocks, and charted the developmental sequence of clocks using shapes, colours and directional arrows. This component relates to the ICT for visualising thinking dimension and is the focus of this sample.

Based on understandings developed from this and other learning activities, students then chose a format such as a talk or a poster to demonstrate their knowledge of the history of clocks.

The elements of the ICT for visualising thinking Level 3 standard addressed by the task are:

(Students) use ICT tools to list ideas, order them into logical sequences, and identify relationships between them.
