Information and Communications Technology Assessment Map – Sample at 1.75
Why I liked this book
Context
Students were asked to create a poster about a story they had read. The poster should encourage other students to read the book. As a class, the students chose to use desktop publishing software to complete the task. Students were required to insert an image of the front cover of their book. These images had been scanned by the teacher and students were required to retrieve the relevant image for their poster.
The element of the Information and Communications Technology Level 2 standard addressed by the task is:
(Students) manipulate text, images and numeric data to create simple information products for specific audiences.
Sample
The following work samples, and the related ICT 1.75 progression point examples, illustrate the kinds of responses that students produce as they progress towards Level 2.
Two samples are provided; the first part shows the student’s work prior to making changes to improve the appearance of the poster; the second part shows the modified poster.
This work is the student’s first effort. After printing the poster the student reviewed the work and made modifications, which are shown in part 2.
