Locomotor and manipulative skills
Context
Students were asked to demonstrate a range of basic to more complex locomotor and manipulative skills through simple individual and partner activities. Students performed skills such as the run, catch, vertical jump, single rope jumping, ball bounce and leap.
Prior to undertaking this assessment task students participated in a unit which focused on developing these skills in individual, partner, drill and relay activities.

Movement and physical activity – 1.25
- Performs a variety of basic motors skills (run, catch and vertical jump) demonstrating the development of a range of components of each skill.
- Focuses eyes forward throughout the run with arms moving in opposition to the legs but arms cross over the midline.
- Focuses eyes on the ball and hands are in preparatory position for the catch.
- Good preparatory and flight position during the vertical jump.
