TAC Personal Evaluation

TAC stands for Traffic Accident Commission

1. Who is the TAC campaign targeted at?
The TAC is targeted at people who drive - all ages

2. How did the TAC campaign make you feel?
The ones that got my attention was:
- The girl who got brain damage because of a drunk driver
- The man who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and got brain damage
- The man who was setting up the Christmas tree with his family & died because he was drinking (this one was the most effective)

3. What responses do you think other people may have to these advertisements? What factors do you think would influence people reactions?
Most people would be affected by the ads, different people would be differently affected by the ads. Parent would be affected by the last one and young drivers by the first one.

4. Do you think TAC campaigns are effective? What makes them effective or ineffective?
The campaigns are effective because they’re graphic and make people think what if that happened to them, it definitely made me think harder and wonder if that could happen to me.

5. What communicative strategies are used in the campaign and how do the graphics, language and presentation add to the intended message?
The graphic images definitely affect how affective the ads are. The images may disturb people though. They’re effective but some of them are to graphic, but if that what they have to do to get the message through then fair enough.
