People in places (Drama)

Context

In People in places students focused on using imagination to create dramatic moments and action about being in a familiar place. Students worked with a partner or in a small group to devise drama based on their experiences, ideas, observations and feelings about the places. They used drama skills to devise a character and worked in a small group to create short narrative works.

Teaching and learning activities associated with this assessment task included creating character/s, devising a short drama and using the language of drama when providing and responding to feedback.

The following sample illustrates the kind of response that students produce when they have achieved the elements of the standard addressed by the task.

Individually, students developed ideas for a drama based on their feelings, observations and experiences about being in a supermarket. These ideas were shown to the class.
