Samples are available for the following tasks:
People in places (Drama)
Context
In People in places students focus on using imagination to create dramatic moments and action about being in a familiar place. Students work with a partner or in a small group to devise drama based on their experiences, ideas, observations and feelings about the places using drama skills to devise a character and working in a small group to create short narrative works.
Teaching and learning activities associated with this assessment task included creating character/s, devising a short drama and using the language of drama when providing and responding to feedback.

This work sample, and the related Arts 2.5 domain progression point examples, illustrate the kind of response that students produce as they progress towards the Level 3 standard.
Sample 1
Students discussed how they had used the elements of drama and different skills, techniques and processes in their work. The class also talked about the relationship between what the actor had intended and what the audience saw.

Exploring and responding – 2.5
Student in audience
- Uses words and gestures to describe ideas and feelings communicated by the actor.
Actor
- Describes ideas and feelings they are aiming to communicate.
Sample 2
Students then worked in pairs for a short time (about 5 minutes) sharing, combining and developing their ideas. Following this activity they extended and refined their work before presenting completed drama to the class.
