At the Doctor’s – Level 4 Sample Unit

Introduction
Note: This unit assumes students are learning Italian but can be used in any LOTE class.
In At the doctor’s students participate in a role play of a visit to a doctor's surgery in Italy to explore the cultural similarities and differences between Australia and Italy. The students work in groups to create, perform and make a record of their role play.
Suggested duration: 4 – 6 sessions (30 – 40 minutes per session).

This unit provides opportunities for students to demonstrate achievement of elements of Level 4 standards in Interpersonal Development, Languages Other Than English and Information and Communications Technology.
Students are assessed on their ability to:
- adapt language and gesture and apply relevant conversational rules and expectations for purpose of a discourse
- create and present a performance to an audience
- provide feedback to others
- independently use a range of skills to produce accurate and suitably formatted products.
