The following VCAA publications were distributed to parents in previous years. These publications still contain useful infomation about the VELS and are available for download.

Important information for parents about student learning and standards (2006)

This booklet was published in July 2006 after the implementation of the VELS. It provided in-depth information about the introduction of the VELS, what changes were being made to the curriculum and the types of activities students undertake at each level.

Translations of the booklet are also provided in a number of the languages other than English spoken in Victoria.

Introducing the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (2005)

This brochure was published in 2005 prior to the implementation of the VELS. It provided a general overview of the structure of the VELS curriculum.
