Community Decisions: What is community? (www97.intel.com/en/ThinkingTools/VisualRanking/ProjectExamples/UnitPlans/)
Levels 5-6 students seek solutions to a local problem − what to do with a vacant neighbourhood building that is unsafe and being vandalised. They survey representative members of the community, research potential development ideas, and use the Visual Ranking Tool to arrive at a prioritised set of well-reasoned solutions they can present to a local community development advisory committee.

Road Safety: How can we make the world a safer place? (www97.intel.com/en/ThinkingTools/SeeingReason/ProjectExamples/UnitPlans/RoadSafety/SR_UnitPlans3.htm)
Level 3 students address the problem of traffic accidents in their community. Using the Seeing Reason mapping tool, they investigate cause-and-effect relationships that contribute to the problem and then develop a well-reasoned plan for making the roads safer for all.
