Approaches to Teaching This advice offers a range of strategies and resources which provide teachers with examples that inform and elaborate the standards. Relationships to Other Domains This advice identifies how concepts and skills in this domain complement student learning in other domains. Pathways As students approach the end of the compulsory years of schooling they begin to make choices about their preferred areas of and pathways for learning. Safety and sensitive issues in Health and Physical Education This advice highlights the need for appropriate procedures, guidelines and documentation when teaching sensitive and personal issues and practical activities to ensure the physical, social and emotional safety of individual students at all times. Sexuality Education and the VELS The VCAA has developed two resources to assist schools to place sexuality education in the context of the VELS. These are: ‘Where does sexuality education fit within the VELS?’ – a PowerPoint presentation Sexuality Education Curriculum Audit Tool. Background to the VELS This provides background information to the domain including the relationship between the VELS and the previous curriculum guidelines for Victorian schools, the Curriculum and Standards Framework (CSF) II.
