VELS Teacher Educator Forum resources
The VCAA held a one day forum on Monday 23 Febraury 2009, focussed on the on-going implementation of the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS).
The purposes of the forum was to provide teacher educators with the opportunity to discuss the following with VCAA staff:
- ongoing implementation of the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS);
- the place of interdisciplinary learning in disciplines such as Science;
- the resources available on the VELS website; and
- the potential impact of the development of the national curriculum on the VELS.

VELS Graduate Teacher Forum resources
The VCAA held a one day forum on Tuesday 27 January 2009 focusing on the Victorian Essential Learning Standards (VELS) to support graduate teachers about to embark on their first year of teaching.
The forum was designed to provide advice for graduate teachers on using the VELS in planning teaching, learning and assessment activities. The program:
- included an overview of the VELS and resources to support the development of effective curriculum and assessment
- provided opportunities for participants to meet with VCAA curriculum staff to ask questions and discuss practical teaching strategies
- facilitated the development of support networks with other graduate teachers.
