Thinking Processes 2.5

Introduction

This work sample forms part of the assessment map for Thinking Processes. Other parts of the Thinking Processes assessment map can be accessed by using the menu on the right side of the screen.

The Thinking Processes Level 3 standards describe what students should know and be able to do at this level.

The assessment task which generated this work sample was designed to give students the opportunity to demonstrate achievement of selected elements of the standard. The work sample illustrates progress towards, but does not fully demonstrate achievement of, the selected elements of the standard.

Sample at 2.5 – Zoo animals

Context

Following an excursion to the zoo, students were asked to construct a concept map to show ‘What they had learnt about zoo animals’. The teacher had previously modelled the construction of a concept map in a variety of contexts however, for this activity, students worked without assistance from teachers or peers.
