The ICT Level 3 standards describe what students should know and be able do at this level.
The assessment task which generated this work sample was designed to give students the opportunity to demonstrate achievement of selected elements of the standard. The work sample illustrates progress towards, but does not fully demonstrate achievement of, the selected elements of the standard.
Students were asked to retrieve a Venn diagram template from the network and use this graphic organiser to identify the similarities and differences between two fairytales. Students were required to save the completed file using a name meaningful to them and store it in a designated folder.
This task was part of a larger one which required students to investigate characteristics of fairytales in order to create their own fairytale, which would be portrayed as an animation through using the software tool Claymation. In groups of four, students developed a hand-drawn storyboard containing a simple script of their fairytale, which was then fully developed using word processing software. Sets and characters were built, digital photos were taken, voices recorded and then the photos were ‘stitched’ together to form an animation. The audience for this fairytale were Prep students.
