Interpersonal Development 2.25

Introduction

These work samples form part of the assessment map for Interpersonal Development. Other parts of the Interpersonal Development assessment map can be accessed by using the menu on the right.

The Interpersonal Development Level 3 standards describe what students should know and be able do at this level.

The assessment tasks which generated these work samples were designed to give students the opportunity to demonstrate achievement of selected elements of the standard. The work samples illustrate progress towards, but do not fully demonstrate achievement of, the selected elements of the standard.

Sample at 2.25 – Friendships

Context

Students were required to answer the question ‘What makes a good friend?’

Prior to undertaking this activity, students developed with their teacher a ‘code of cooperation values’. They explored values such as honesty, care, respect, and self-discipline and provided examples of what these values would look like in their classroom. Development of the ‘code of cooperation values’ led to discussions about relationships within the classroom and friendships. These discussions included listing examples of characteristics of a good friend.

The elements of the Building social relationships Level 3 standard addressed by the task are:

(Students) demonstrate respect for others and exhibit appropriate behaviour for maintaining friendships with other people.
